Community Service Award 2011

We are thrilled to be the recipients of the Community Service Award for Australia awarded at the recent Curves Convention. While we work to improve the lives of women in the inner-west area through Curves, we also feel it is important to reach out to others in our community. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our members, this year we were able to support a range of charities within our local community aligned to Curves’ 'Strengthening Women' mission. These included donating over 450kgs of food as well as Christmas gifts for the women at Guthrie House, knitting over 40 blankets, scarves and beanies for the women of Locke Haven Nursing Home, collecting over 100 pairs of spectacles for One Sight, donating car loads of suits, shirts, skirts, shoes and accessories to Dress for Success, donating over 100 bras to Project Uplift and raising over $3,200 for Cancer Council's Girls' Night In.
